The group known as ISIS doesn't need the little things such as computer hackers and such because it doesn't need them. They have plenty of small arms to help contribute to what it doesn't have. ISIS strikes fear into the heart's of people, but at least the US doesn't have to deal with a wide-spread hack attack. Just about 4,700 civilians dead and 6,500 wounded from June 1st to August 31st, all of which included human rights abuse of all kinds and were Iraqi and Syrian. However something that is a bit different is that the bullet shells used for this all of this, 20% of those were made in US factories. Another shocking fact is that 42% of the total arms ISIS is using came from the US between 2009 and 2013. This piece can be related back to the Holocaust and how the Germans abused the human rights of just about everyone who was supposed to be "eliminated", mainly the Jews of course. They took away everything that had and tried to turn them into people they weren't, and if they didn't obey, they were killed on the spot indefinitely.

Yeah, I think that ISIS is a very frightening terrorist group. The worst part about this terrorist group is that they do not rely on anything complex, they use terror tactics which are simple and difficult to control. It surprises me that this terrorist group has US weapons. I do believe that these weapons were most probably stolen and given gifted to ISIS by the US. Regardless, it seems like the US needs to do a better job controlling and taking care of their weapons, because it could end up being that American people die by American weapons. I do not really see the connection to the Holocaust - I agree that the ISIS violated human rights, but I don't think ISIS can match a big movement such as the Nazis, or even be considered to be as threatening as the Nazis were.
ReplyDeleteI believe that this terrorist group is a very serious situation not only specified to the Middle East, but all the world. If this group tries to capture key regions of the area such as the strait of Hormuz, all the world will suffer the consequences. It is important for all the nations working together to stop these cruel people. Innocent men, women, children are dying everyday. The fact that they are using supplies that are made in the United States, is a red sign that shows that the U.S has to be more careful selling these weapons to countries with the potential of having their weapons stolen. In my opinion, the U.S had to react to this group earlier. Now it is much more difficult for them to stop the ISIS movement. If this group is not stopped on time, it could make a very serious impact on the relations of the countries in the region.
ReplyDeleteI think ISIS is disgusting. I understand all of the tension going on in the Middle East, but beheading journalists and slaughtering women and children is not the answer to any problem. The only thing they are doing by posting the graphic beheadings and murders is making them an even bigger target for American drones and soldiers.
ReplyDeleteI definitely believe that ISIS is a terrifying and threatening group. They rely on simple tactics and have no need for major hacking heists of any sorts. I found it quite odd that their supply of arms has mostly come come from the US, which leads me to believe that we aren't being careful who we allow ourselves to sell arms to or that they are being stolen through some manner. This whole organization should be raising a red flag in the eyes of not only America but other countries around the world considering their violation of human rights to the highest extent. Many innocent people are dying due to their terrible work. Some form of action should definitely be considered in the effort to stop this terrorist group.
ReplyDeleteI think this is rarely said but I do think ISIS is a very smart terroist organization. Instead of sending private messages to a nation's government, they put it on somewhere where everyone around the world can witness crimes and executions, the internet. That being said, this does not mean I support them in any way, but do agree with the way they go about things being smart. It's also strange to know that the US helped supply and arm ISIS. After knowing this, it makes me uncomfortable with how they said they were going to bomb ISIS. I hope other nations get more involved in ending this organization because I do not have faith in the US tackling this situation after knowing that they supplied them.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with Ryan in the fact that ISIS is intelligent for a terrorist organization, one of their exemplary actions is their use of public transmissions and messages. I'm not surprised that the US gave ISIS their arms, as we did the same thing with Saddam Hussein, and look where that got us. They should not be taken lightly, and with the power that they have, I wouldn't be surprised if they grow as a group and cause problems in other place in the world. The US should work hand in hand with other nations to try and solve this issue with ISIS, all the while keeping to their own, and letting the other nations do what they want for their country.
