This past Friday, NASA's Orion capsule landed in the Pacific Ocean after orbiting the earth twice in an unmanned test flight. This new capsule has been designed as part of NASA's effort to take crews past low-earth orbit, marking their first attempt since the Apollo missions in the 1960's. This new spacecraft would take crews not only to the moon, but far beyond. A NASA announcer has stated that "America has driven a golden spike as it crosses a bridge into the future." What do you think of this new project? Is this a significant scientific goal? Is this an appropriate way to spend money?

This new project that NASA has launched is good with the further exploration in space. NASA gets a certain amount of funding and it is their choice on what to do with that money. As technology continues to advance, this could be the start of new discoveries into space. According to the article, it has been over 50 years since the last Apollo missions. This huge jump in technology is sure to be a huge jump into the knowledge of outer space.
ReplyDeleteThis NASA project is an extraordinary. Knowing we only know a little about what's in space, this will be a perfect project for it. This is an appropriate way to spend money because they have a budget for this. They don't just spend an infinite amount of money the gov't gives them. This is also a making history for scientist and for astronomy fans. They WILL find and explore many new things about what's in space with all this new technology we have.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really cool NASA project. I think this is a really interesting and good advancement for the US and human race. As time goes on, our time on earth is limited because of all the destruction we are doing to it; soon it will become uninhabitable. Advances like these are needed for the human race to survive.
ReplyDeleteI like how modern advancements is taking our exploration to outside this planet, because who knows what out there. I personally don't think this is necessary because we have enough problems in our own planet, and having time exploring other planets is really worth the time. We have issues that other planets in our solar system probably can't fix anyways.
ReplyDeleteI think that this is an appropriate way to spend money. When we invest in venturing into space and other places other than Earth, we learn more about our universe. We will learn more about the place where we all inhabit and this could help improve our life on Earth and possibly open up opportunities to continue life elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great investment. I think if this can travel where no man has been, it can reveal a lot about our universe. This could also lead us to some aliens possibly.
